These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a contract between Penetrum LLC, a Virginia limited liability company, d/b/a Computus (“Computus”) and the customer ordering or using Computus services (“you”). By ordering or using a Computus server, you agree to these Terms.
Effective July 28, 2026.
1. The service
Computus provides dedicated bare metal server hosting: physical servers located in our facility, rented on a month to month basis with no long term contract. Pricing for available configurations is listed on the Servers & Plans page at the time you order.
2. Term and billing
Service is billed monthly in advance, month to month. There is no minimum contract term. Payment is accepted by any method our payment processor, Stripe, supports. If a payment fails, you have a 10 day grace period to resolve it before your service is suspended; service is terminated if the issue is not resolved within 15 days of suspension. Either party may cancel per Section 3 and the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
3. Cancellation and termination
You may cancel your service at any time, effective at your next renewal date; see the Refund and Cancellation Policy for how to cancel and how refunds work. Computus may suspend or terminate service for violation of these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or nonpayment per Section 2, or with 30 days notice for any other reason, except where immediate suspension is reasonably necessary to protect our network or other customers.
4. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the configuration, security, and content of the operating system and any software you run on your server. Computus provides out of band management access (iDRAC) and WireGuard VPN access for your use; you are responsible for keeping credentials to these systems secure.
5. Acceptable use
Use of the service is subject to the Acceptable Use Policy.
6. Service level
Uptime is covered by the Service Level Agreement.
7. Data and privacy
Handling of customer data is described in the Privacy Policy. Computus does not manage backups of your server on your behalf; you are responsible for your own backup strategy.
8. Disclaimers
The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis except as expressly stated in the Service Level Agreement. Computus does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Computus’s liability arising from these Terms or the service is limited to the fees you paid Computus for the service giving rise to the claim. Computus is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the service will be brought exclusively in the state and federal courts located in Virginia, and you consent to the jurisdiction and venue of those courts.
11. Notices
Legal notices to Computus should be sent to Penetrum LLC, [NOTICE ADDRESS], or to support@computus.io.
12. Changes to these Terms
Computus may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page.
